Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark

天然翡翠標誌——天然翡翠，必選地方

翡翠以色澤均勻通透為貴，造出的首飾無論小件的鑲嵌戒指，或是手鐲，都令人眼前一亮，是翡翠首飾中的上品，價格亦因而較高，甚至在拍賣會上由買家競投正所謂物以罕為貴，能夠挖掘出這種質素的原石是可遇不可求，因此有人魚目混珠，利用化學方法植入樹脂，改善翡翠的色澤，由下品充上品，但人造的價值遠不及天然，然而化學方法加工的翡翠首飾不易憑肉眼分辨。
有「優質足金標誌」的成經經驗，商會於2007 年推出「天然翡翠標誌」計劃，派員到參與店舖抽驗翡翠首飾，合格店舖會獲「天然翡翠標誌」，商號亦承諾只售賣天然翡翠，提升消費者的信心。

市場上的翡翠以綠色為主，而商會抽驗的翡翠首飾，盡量包含各種顏色，不論紅、黃、冰、白、紫、墨，是否鑲作，都屬抽驗範圍。

The “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” Scheme co-organized by the Hong Kong Jewellers’ and Goldsmiths’ Association Limited and the Kowloon Pearls Precious Stones Jade Gold and Silver Ornament Merchants Association aims to maintain Hong Kong’s reputation as the shopping paradise with authentic goods, and the ideal destination for natural jadeite. All participating merchants of the “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” Scheme can only sell natural jadeite and agree to the collection of samples by the Associations’ representatives for testing purpose. Those fulfilling the requirements will be granted an annual “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” for easy identification.

In July 2022, the Jewellers’ and Goldsmiths’ Association of Hong Kong Limited officially began operations and was authorized by the Hong Kong Jewellers’ and Goldsmiths’ Association Limited and the Kowloon Pearls Precious Stones Jade Gold and Silver Ornament Merchants Association to carry out inspections for the "Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark" and to issue the Mark accordingly.

Rules and Regulations

1.     Merchants applying for the “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” can only sell natural jadeite in their outlets.(No treated jadeite, resin-filled jadeite, dyed jadeite, or fake jadeite can be sold or displayed))。

2.     Only merchants that have operated for at least six months and are members of “The Jewellers’& Goldsmiths’ Association Hong Kong Ltd” hereinafter referred to as “the Association” are eligible to apply and must be a retail business. Existing members opening branches stores are exempt from this restriction. Applicants must complete and return the application form and the Rules and Regulations signed by the person-in-charge and stamped with the company chop.

3.     Applicants must pay the annual participation fee.

4.     Branches of the same merchant must be included in the application for the “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark”. If natural jadeite is not sold in a branch, the applicant must complete a declaration of exemption, which must be verified by the Association. If natural jadeite is sold in this branch in future, the merchant must notify the Association immediately and file its application for the “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark”.

5.     If existing Merchants and their branches do not wish to apply (except for exemption applications), they must return the issued "Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark." The fees already paid will not be refunded.

6.     Applicants must agree to allow the Association’s representatives to the store to randomly select any jadeite item (hereinafter referred to as "jade item") for identification and testing. The tested jade items will be returned after identification, with the quantity of selected items determined according to the annual regulations.

7.     For insurance/security reason, the samples will be sealed at the premises of the merchants, who should send the samples to the Association at the designated time and date. The samples will be sent to an accredited laboratory. In case of late submission or incompliance with the instructions, the test will be rearranged by the Association, otherwise the applicants will be deemed as giving up the application.

8.     After review by the Association’s "Quality Control and Marking Committee", applicants whose identification results fully meet the Natural Jadeite Accreditation Program requirements will be issued a "Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark." The mark is valid for one year to ensure high-quality standards.

9.     If a piece of treated, resin-filled, dyed, or fake jadeite (i.e., non-natural jadeite) is found among the five samples, another five samples will be taken for re-testing and the re-testing fee shall be borne by the applicant. No “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” will be given to those failing to pass the test.

10.   The “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” will be valid for one year. Sample collection and testing will be carried out once a year with five (5) items. Only qualified merchants can continue to own the mark. Random tests will also be carried out to ensure full compliance with the standards and the testing fee shall be borne by the merchants.

11.   If a dispute or complaint arises with a customer, the “Quality Control and Marking Committee” has the right to request a reasonable explanation from the accused merchant. The disputed jade item will be passed to an accredited laboratory for examination. The merchant must recall the sold item and provide a full refund immediately if it is proven to be non-natural jadeite. The “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” for the year will be terminated and withdrawn if three or more complaints have been proven valid. Any related representations must also be removed, and the matter will be referred to customs for further action.

12.   The Association will not be liable for any actions caused by non-compliance with the quality standards. Merchants agree to indemnify the Association for all losses and expenses incurred by the above disputes or actions.

13.   As the “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” will be promoted through mass media, all applicants must pay a promotion fee required by the Association’s regulations. The difference will be borne by the Association.

14.   The “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” will be withdrawn any time if the merchants violate any of the above regulations.

15.   The “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark” is the property of the Association, who have the right to withdraw or amend the design.

16.   The Association reserve the right of final decision on or the right to amend the above rules and regulations.
