With the support of individuals from all walks of life and fellow industry participants, JGAHK, a non-profit organization, remains dedicated to promoting and safeguarding the interests of Hong Kong’s jewellery industry. We are committed to ensuring that products marketed by our members meet the relevant standards set by the government, thereby protecting the rights of both the industry and consumers. In addition, through the implementation of the “Quality Gold Mark,” “Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark,” and “Reputation Shop Mark” certification schemes, designed to enhance the credibility of qualified jewellery firms, JGAHK supports the industry in complying with the Trade Descriptions Ordinance and the Code of Practice for the Jewellery Retail Industry, ultimately driving service standards even higher.

In our commitment to enhancing social well-being, we remain dedicated to fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities. In the realm of education and training, we continuously provide members with up-to-date market intelligence and technological advancements. We also organize training programmes to nurture industry talent and keep members informed of emerging business trends, thereby supporting their efforts to expand sales networks and further develop their markets.

China stands as one of the world’s most significant consumer markets and jewellery manufacturing hubs. The Belt and Road Initiative, the establishment of free trade zones in the country, and the development of the Greater Bay Area are all expected to create abundant business opportunities for the industry. In response, JGAHK has established branches in Mainland China to help reinforce Hong Kong’s pivotal role in the industry and to promote the development of shared industry standards applicable across both Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Despite the many challenges Hong Kong has faced over the past few decades, including financial crises, a loss of consumer confidence, a decline in tourist numbers and the inability to fully contain the epidemic, the city’s jewellery industry has drawn strength from its solid foundation and met each test with resilience and optimism. Driven by the hallmark spirit of Hong Kong people – being flexible, innovative, pragmatic, and result-oriented - industry participants have swiftly adapted to market shifts by crafting boldly stylish products with exquisite workmanship and delivering exceptional customer service. These efforts have further elevated Hong Kong’s reputation as the “Pearl of the Orient” and reinforced its status as a premier shopping paradise.
